Rapper, ex-big Brother Africa Kenyan representative, Jackson Makini aka CMB Prezzo might be in big trouble over a recent gun drama with an Army Official. The incident reportedly occurred on the morning of Saturday September 21, 2013, the former lover to late Afro Popstar, Goldie was said to be fighting over a parking space outside Aqua Blue Lounge, Nairobi. According to an official statement by Gigiri Division Police boss, Vitalis Otieno, Prezzo allegedly obstructed the military colonel (name withheld).
“When the military officer came back ready to go, an argument broke out over the parking slot which degenerated to an assault using a gun. We want him to report at Parklands,” part of the statement said.
According to reports, Prezzo allegedly hit the Swiss army colonel in the head with a gun and then also tried shooting him but was restrained by his bodyguards who dragged him off to his car and drove off. A source claimed, “the officer was forced to cancel his flight to Ethopia and was rushed to MP Shah Hospital for immediate treatment.”
The rapper who only recently returned from the U.S took to Twitter to defend himself,
“I got into an altercation with a foreigner who racially abused me and attacked me last night being human, I rightfully defended myself.”
CMB Prezzo is one of the most renowned rappers in East Africa. He released his debut album ‘Naleta Action’ in 2004 which included hits like ‘Naleta Action’, ‘Lets Get Down’, ‘Mahangaiko’, ‘Leo ni Leo’, ‘Mimi na Wewe’, ‘Mafans’ amongst others.

Michael Jackson Was Fully Responsible For His Death- Lawyer

Jackson’s family blame the concert promoter for his June 2009 death on the eve of his sold-out comeback tour, claiming the company hired Jackson’s doctor and pressured him to bend medical rules in order to ensure the tour would go ahead.
But in his closing arguments, Putnam denied that the company had hired Dr Conrad Murray, pointing out that he had been treating Jackson and his family for years before the tour.
Murray was found guilty of providing the insomniac Jackson with the surgical anesthetic Propofil as a sleeping aid, which a coroner found had caused Jackson’s death.
The evidence is very clear that Michael Jackson was the one who hired Dr Murray.
”Jackson was responsible for his own health, certainly his own healthcare, and he’s responsible for his own choices, no matter how bad those choices turn out to be.
“The truth here is a tragedy … It’s a tragedy for this family, a tragedy for his mother, a tragedy for his kids. It’s horrible and it’s incredibly sad. But it’s not a tragedy of AEG Live’s making,” Putnam said.
The lawyer insisted that Jackson never told AEG Live about his reliance on the dangerous medication.
“AEG would have never agreed to finance this tour if they knew Mr Jackson was playing Russian roulette in his bedroom every night,” Putnam told jurors.
During the five-month trial, AEG Live argued that it was Jackson who hired Murray.
Murray is due to be released next month after serving two years in prison following his conviction for the involuntary manslaughter of the late pop star.
Jackson’s family lawyer, Brian Panish, claimed in his closing arguments, that AEG had known about Jackson’s past health problems and was negligent in not checking the background of Murray, who was deeply in debt at the time and needed the tour to go ahead to save him from financial ruin.
The damages Jackson’s family is seeking from AEG has not been specified, but if AEG is found liable, the company could be facing a payment of more than one billion dollars in Jackson’s lost earnings.
Unlike criminal trials where a unanimous verdict is needed, only nine of the 12 jurors are required to reach a verdict.

Confirmation that Wande Coal has left Mavin Records...

The speculations have been buzzing for weeks after Wande Coal released his ‘Kilaju’ song with ‘BLACK DIAMOND ENT’ on the artwork and his label; Don Jazzy owned Mavin Records‘s logo was missing.
Well now that the stills from his new video ‘Rotate’ are out, it is still his founded entity splashed allover it…reasons why he left the label are undisclosed while no official report has been released from Mavin Records. The video was shot in London by Sesan Ogunro for Film Factory and expected to be out in a couple of days.

Tupac's Mom Sues for $1.1 Million...

You haven't met a protective mother until you've met Tupac's mom ... she's now suing over unpaid royalties stemming from the late rapper's posthumous album ... to the tune of $1.1 million.

Afeni Shakur -- the co-administrator of Tupac's estate -- filed the lawsuit against a company called Entertainment One, claiming it breached a contract to pay Tupac's estate royalties on "Beginnings: The Lost Tapes," which was released in June 2007.

According to the suit, E1 purchased the rights to Tupac's music (previously owned by Death Row Records) in July. FYI, Death Row went bankrupt in 2006.

Afeni claims E1 now owes Tupac's estate $1.1 million ... and it better pony up fast. She also wants E1 to hand over the master recordings of all Tupac's unreleased music.

In a recent interview with Hip Hop world, Nigerian rapper and music producer, Jesse Jagz, said that Nigerian music is unintelligent.
“This is not a Kendrick thing. You don’t need Jesus to tell you that Nigerian music is unintelligent. Even Goats can dance to our music. Can Jesse Jagz make Nigeria a better place for Wizkid? Can Wizkid do same too? Let adults do better and let kids party. We need to leave something better for the coming generation” he explained.

Genevieve is a very good friend of mine, we met way back in 2004 and we have been good friends since then. The story that we are lovers must have come from another female friend of hers. I am saying this because since 2004, there have been no such lesbian stories but suddenly it sprung up.
Towards the end of last year, I came to Nigeria and I stayed with Genevieve. Although we stayed under the same roof, we slept in different rooms.
There was a time during my visit that we both went to see a friend in a hotel in Lekki and people saw us going in. We later went clubbing that night with the friend and which I think is a normal thing for girls to club if they want to. But that was when the rumours got worse, that we went into the hotel to sleep with each other!!!
She said it’s not the first time the Press would label her a lesbian but she has developed a thick skin and so it doesn’t bother her because she knows she is not a lesbian!
Genevieve and I have known each other since 2004 and she really is a nice person if you get to know her. We talk on phone a lot and we discuss life’s issues like normal girls do, she is a wonderful person.
I guess it’s because she is a famous person that some undesirable elements want to tarnish her image and mine too. The Press make things worse too.
There was a time I performed with Tony Tetuila and there were rumors after then that we were dating. But I just want to emphasize here that Genevieve and I are not in any form of sexual relationship, we are just good friends.

Tell us the reason behind your Stage Name?

When I was much younger, I use to be very vulgar & blunt....which made my friends to start referring to me as someone that is too "raw" (verbally), then at a point when I and my friends picked interest in rap music, I decided to use the name "Dat NIG.G.A  RAW" meaning  Dat Nigerian Guy Anakpo Raw. It was easy for me to choose "RAW" cos my friends were already calling me that.

 What is music to you?

 Music to me is FOOD for the SOUL. I call it an ORGANIZED NOISE that people can't do without regardless of the language.

 Apart from music what else do you do? 

 

I'll probably be working in an office or better still be a marketer for Alaba international  Market.  Lol!

 

What is it that people don't really know about you?

 

I am God fearing, I respect people young and old.

 

What will you do with 5 million dollars if you win it in Lotto?

 
I will SPEND IT (positively), I'll invest some part of the money and use better part of it to touch lives.

Jonathan appoints Onyeka Onwenu Executive Director, NCWD

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of a legendary singer, Onyeka Onwenu, as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Women Development, NCWD, Abuja.

She was born in Onitsha, Anambra State on May 17, 1961. Onyeka Onwenu is a Nigerian singer, actress and politician.  In 2006, she won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a supporting role.
Previously, she was the chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts.
She is expected to assume duties immediately.

Benue state Governor's shocking act...

Governor Suswan decided to serve as Anyiman's best man to honour him because of his commitment to his job, a guest said. Anyiman has being a cook for Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Michael Tumba in Abuja for over 18 years.

CHARLES NOVIA INSISTS WANDE COAL AND OLAMIDE’S SONGS BE BANNED AS WELL...

Following the breaking news of NBC banning Maleek Berry’s ”The Matter” featuring Wizkid and Phyno’s ”Man of the year”, Nollywood Producer and Director Charles Novia has chosen to voice out his thought about the whole ban thing.
He chastises NBC on why it took so long to make such drastic steps and what were the criteria for banning such songs.

According to the director, Wande Coal’s ‘KICK’ video should be banned off the national television space as well as ‘Stupid love’ by Olamide which he believes are sexually provocative and promotes alcoholic inebriation respectively.

“It is high time we cleaned up the airwaves. Let those who wish to listen to lewd songs or watch raunchy music videos do so on other media. It is a sin the way we corrupt the minds of our children in the name of artistic licence.”

The Edo born Movie Maker is responsible for bringing into limelight, some players in the Nigerian movie industry like Desmond Elliot, Empress Njamah and Grace Amah among others.

Radio stations are banned from playing Wizkid's The Matter & Phyno's Man of the Year by NBC

According to Beatfm OAP Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi, The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has instructed them not to play two songs - Wizkid ft Maleek Berry - The Matter and Phyno - 'Man of the Year. 

Gbemi adviced them to make a radio edit if the want the songs played on radio.

Newly Married Couple dies in a car crash...

A newly married couple, Francis Edeh and Ann, along with two others died in a car crash, weekend on the Ugep-Abakaliki Road.

Francis and Ann, both from Ebonyi State and resident in Calabar, Cross River State, were heading to Abakaliki to thank family members, who attended their wedding the previous week, Saturday, September 7, in Calabar.
When they got to Amudo village, some 30 kilometres to Abakiliki, their vehicle developed an electrical fault prompting them to seek the services of an auto electrician.
Omaka, an electrician at Amudo told Vanguard: "The man came to my shop at 4p.m. and said his car had stopped and that he suspects an electrical fault. So I went with him on an Okada (commercial motorcycle)."
He said he did his best but could not repair the Toyota Camry car and sought the assistance of Luke, another electrician in the neighbouring town, Onueke. When Luke came, there was trouble between the him and late Ann. Quarrel Omaka said: "Luke took an Okada from Onueke to Amudo and when he got here, he told Mr. Edeh to pay the Okada man.
"But his wife started shouting, saying why should her husband pay Luke's transport fare, when he had not even touched the car." Omaka said despite the tensed atmosphere, Luke still went on with the work, but later advised the couple to leave the car till Monday. He said Ann became angry and the couple left for Abakiliki.
Omaka said: "They refused to take Luke's advice. The next day, which was Sunday, they decided to come back to Amudo with Ortuh, another electrician in Abakalilki on a chartered vehicle. On the way, the car had a burst tire and collided, head-on, with a tanker and the four of them died."
Drunk driver A cab driver, Ogbada, told Vanguard that Ortuh used to be a tipper driver before he bought an Audi car with number plate, Akwa Ibom, AG 727, KST with the money he got from driving the tipper. Ogbada said: "I was the one the couple contacted first. But I did not want to go, so I gave it to the tipper driver.
"The man (driver) was drunk that morning and so he collected just N1,500 from the man even when we asked him to collect the complete sum for five passengers, which is N1,800 since the transport fare from Abakaliki to Amudo is N300 and his car carries five persons." 'I warned them' Luke, the electrician in Onueke, said Ann was quarrelsome.
He said: "I told them not to repair that car till Monday, because my spirit told me something. But the woman was angry and thought I wanted to punish them.
"Why did the man have to take his wife again the next day to Amudo to repair the car? Couldn't she have stayed in Abakaliki, while he took Ortuh to repair the car?"
The tanker is still parked at the Onueke Police Station, while the bodies of the electrician and the driver were taken to their villages for burial. The couple's bodies are at Onueke General Hospital mortuary.
