A pregnant woman who says she wasn’t even protesting lost her left eye after police on Tuesday in St. Louis shot her in the face with a bean bag round, her family said Friday.
Dornella Conner, 24, is recovering after being blinded Tuesday and possibly losing some sight in her right eye as well, dad Donnell Conner told NBC News.

Deputy Controller of Prisons Bags Seven Years Jail Term


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on  Friday 28, 2014, secured the conviction of a top prison officer as Justice J.J Majebi of the Kogi State High Court, Okene, convicted and sentenced Joseph Friday Idachaba, Deputy Controller of Prisons, to 7 years imprisonment for offences bordering on obtaining money by false pretense. 
The convict is to pay the sum of N1, 403,114.09 in restitution to Nigeria Prison Service.
Arraigned in 2012 on a three-count charge, the convict was found guilty on count three of the charge by the trial judge, who, however, acquitted him on two remaining counts.

No Environmental Sanitation Today In Lagos

The Lagos State monthly environmental sanitation exercise for November has been cancelled. It was cancelled to allow the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) officials easy access to their centres to distribute Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, in the nine remaining local governments in Lagos.
