Less
than 24 hours after the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) passed a vote of
confidence on the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, the party has asked the commission not to use Nigerians
as guinea pig in the use of the Electronic Card Readers for the 2015 general
elections.
The National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu disclosed this when he
granted audience to the African Delegation to the general elections.
According
to a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Tony Amadi, the PDP national
chairman described the INEC chairman as a liar. "He is lying." The
PDP chairman Thursday expressed confidence that the party has confidence in the
ability of the commission led by Prof. Jega to conduct a transparent, free and
fair election.
PDP strongly advised INEC to ensure that the card readers were test run before it is deployed for use at the March 28 and April 11 elections.

According
to Muazu, " the use of Electronic Management Tool (EMT) to be used for the
2015 elections is welcome but we are not ready to be used as guinea pigs.
"INEC must ensure a successful test run before approving it for use in the elections", he said stressing that INEC management must get their sums right before introducing the measure.

Mu’azu
spoke on Thursday when a delegation of Africa Union election observers led by
AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Dr. Aisha Abdullahi called on him at his
office at Wadata House in Wuse Zone 5.
Mu’azu
told the delegation that “what is happening today in INEC has been highlighted
to them via letters from our party to his office on so many issues including
the fraud of PVC we anticipated, including the manipulation.
