Sepp Blatter won re-election for an
unprecedented fifth term as FIFA president on Friday after challenger
Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein of Jordan conceded following the first round of
voting.
At FIFA's 65th congress
in Zurich, 209 member nations cast their votes and the 79-year-old Blatter
garnered 133 votes to Prince Ali's 73 but fell seven votes shy of earning a
two-third majority, forcing a second vote that would have required only a
simple majority. But at that point,
Prince Ali addressed the voting members and withdrew from the race...
