Catholic
Knights in Lagos, under the auspices of Knights of St. Mulumba Lagos
Metropolitan Council, have reiterated that their stand on abortion and
contraceptive usage remain zero tolerance, even amid current economic pressure
on many families to control population.
Speaking at a pre-event briefing in Lagos to announce the council’s upcoming
‘Vigil on Abortion’ holding this Friday, in collaboration with the Family and
Human Life Unit of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, the Metropolitan Grand
Knight, Dr Charles Mbelede, described abortion as the greatest destroyer of
peace and stability in any nation, while reeling out its health risks.
Mbelede disclosed that the Archdiocese of Lagos had
established a home, Ozanam House, to cater for pregnant young girls sent away
from their homes or schools.
