Rodents have taken over the office of President Muhammadu Buhari...
According to
the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Shehu
Garba, the president’s office would have to undergo renovation because rodents
damaged the furniture and other appliances while the president was away.
He told
THISDAY that it is impossible for the president to operate in the office
because of its condition. He said: “Following the
three months period of disuse, rodents have caused a lot of damage to the
furniture and the air conditioning units.”
Garba said he could not tell when the renovation would be completed, but the maintenance company that was seen at work on Monday at the Presidential Villa had been asked to speed up its pace of work.
He added that this would
not affect the president’s work because since his residence has an annex to the
office.
