Embattled former
Chairman of the Presidential Task Team on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina,
has said the raid on his home by gunmen will not deter him from telling
Nigerians the truth about his involvement in pension matters in the country.
Speaking
against the background of a recent raid on his Kaduna home by armed men on
Christmas eve, Maina said the masterminds of the raid thought he would be
moved by their latest antics to cover the truth.
He said
at the appropriate time, he will open up on the can of worms associated with
the defunct presidential task force.
He noted
that apart from the recent raid on his house, his life and those of his
family members had been under constant threat ever since his return to the
country.
Maina,
who spoke through his brother, Aliyu, said he had also challenged the
Economic and Financial Crimes commission (EFCC) to an open debate over the
matter. He said he had since been forced to flee the country, but had
maintained his innocence on the said stolen funds and even went further to
asked the EFCC for an open debate for Nigerians to know what was unknown
to them.
