A trainee nurse, identified as Calista Uzoigwe was on Sunday stabbed to death by a pastor and his wife over allegation of theft of phone battery in Imo State.
Report says trouble
started when the pastor, who heads a new generation church in Umuohiagwu III,
Umuayamele village, Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo State got involved
in a dispute between his daughter, and the trainee nurse over claims by the latter
that the pastor’s daughter stole her phone battery.
It was gathered that a
phone battery and its charger which were kept with Calista for safe keep was
allegedly stolen by the pastor’s daughter.
An argument was said to
have ensued, after the deceased was confronted by the pastor and in the
process, fight broke out. The pastor alongside his wife stabbed Calista to
death with a knife.
The 23-year-old
deceased, an indigene of Okpanku Community in Aninri area of Enugu State was
said to have been rushed to the Holy Rosary Hospital, Emekuku in Owerri North
by a neighbour where she was confirmed dead.
While confirming the
incident, a co-tenant to the pastor and medical doctor in the Holy Rosary
Hospital, who spoke on the ground of anonymity, stated that Callista died
immediately she was stabbed.
It was further learnt that the pastor and his wife who hail
from Ohubaa in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of the State have been
arrested and are cooling their heels at the Umuneke Ngor Divisional Police
Station.
