Former military president, Gen Ibrahim
Badammasi Babangida (rtd) has declared that he is hale and hearty, and that
only Allah knows when his time on earth will end.
Babangida, who was
reacting to the rumours of his death yesterday, said he was not shocked by the
news in any way.
“As a Muslim, I have
the belief that every one of us must die; it could be now, it could be hundred
years or in two days, it does not matter. Everybody must die, and to me, the
death rumour does not shock me; it is not something to worry about,” he said.
Speaking with some
select journalists at his Hilltop Mansion in Minna, Babangida described death
as an inevitable experience that everyone must taste.
On the state of the
nation, the former military president said he was hopeful that Nigeria would
surmount the present challenges.
According to him, no
matter what the challenges Nigeria is facing now , it was his conviction
that the country will surmount it considering their industrious nature.
