The Anambra State Police command said it has discovered thirteen rusted ammunitions and two cartridges, at a borrow-pit in a dump site at Uruagu Nnewi, Nnewi South local government area of the state.
The State's Police commissioner, Mr. Sam Okaula
who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen, said the discovery was as a
result of excavation carried out by scavengers at the dump site.
He said the discovery may not be unconnected to
the recent rumor of
truck from the Northern part of the country brought yam padded with guns and ammunitions.

Lamenting the use of social media to fabricate
negative views about issues, Okaula warned those who turn trivial issues to
national discourse in other to present the state in bad light to desist from
such act.
He however restated the command's readiness to
deliver on its constitutional mandate by keeping the state safe from criminal
activities, enjoining residents to provide the police with useful information
that would lead to arrest of criminal elements in the state.
