Measures to douse tension arising from the
recent ultimatum issued to Igbos by Arewa youths have seen Acting President
Yemi Osinbajo meeting with a good number of governors from the 36 states of the
federation on Wednesday.
He told them
that under his watch there will be no bloodshed or war of any kind.
Although the
meeting held behind closed doors at the State House Banquet Hall, Osinbajo
expressed disappointment over recent divisive comments credited to youths from
the North and South East.
He said those agitating for secession or
issuing ultimatum asking other members of the society to quit their region were
over stepping their bounds of freedom of expression, a situation, Osinbajo said
government would not condone or treat with kid gloves.
According to
the acting president, the Federal Government would not fold its arms and see
Nigeria go through the pathway of bloodshed or war.
