The immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, yesterday appeared before a Federal High Court in Lagos and pleaded not guilty to the allegation that he misappropriated N30.8 billion.
Fayose,
alongside his company, Spotless Investment Limited, was charged to court by the
Econoimic and Financial Crimes Commission. He was alleged to have committed the
alleged offences during his tenure as Ekiti State governor.
Justice Mojisola
Olatiregun ordered that Fayose be remanded at the EFCC custody till tomorrow
Wednesday when his bail application will be heard in court.
After
Fayose’s arraignmentm his counsel, Kanu Agabi, informed the court of a motion
on notice for his bail of the accused, saying same had been served on
prosecution.
