The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu
Sani, has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
His decision comes few days after the national
body of the APC submitted the name of Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s political
adviser, Uba Sani, as the candidate for that senatorial district.
He disclosed this in a letter dated October 19
and addressed to the Chairman of the party, in ward 6, Tudun Wada North,
Kaduna.
Although he did not give any specific reason
for leaving and also did not state which party he would be defecting to, the
decision may not be unconnected to the withdrawal of the automatic ticket given
to him initially by the party’s National Working Committee.
