Salesman gets N100,000 bail over N8,500 goods theft

Court remands Ugborodo spiritual head, 3 others for attempted murder, kidnap
A Sango-Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State on Thursday slammed a N100, 000 bail on a 28-year-old salesman, Isibor Festus, over allegation that he stole his employer’s property worth N8,500.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Titi Bello, who pronounced the bail, also ordered the accused to produce.
Bello said the surety, who should be resident within the court’s jurisdiction, should be gainfully employed.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Festus lives at No: 12, Adeola Street, Ifo, near Sango-Ota, is facing a charge of stealing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Corporal. Rosemary Brown, told the court that the accused, an employee of Justrite Superstores, Ota, committed the offence on November. 29, 2013 at   7.00 p.m.
She said the accused stole two shirts valued at N5, 000 and a wristwatch valued at N3, 500, property of Justrite Superstores.
The offence, Brown noted, contravened Section 390 (b) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
