A senior nurse who filmed himself raping unconscious patients in an A&E ward is facing a lengthy jail sentence after admitting a string of offences on victims as young as ten.
Andrew Hutchinson, 29,
abused women under general anaesthetic as they lay in hospital beds behind
curtains at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The 29-year-old Hutchinson was charged with 27 crimes, including the rape of three women, ages 18, 22, and 35.
A statement from the Thames Valley Police
say that Hutchinson confessed to the rapes, and apart from the rape charges, he
also faces charges of public indecency in an incident involving two young
girls, ages 10 and 15.
Hutchinson had also sexually assaulted two
women, ages 24 and 21, in the medical tent of a musical festival in the UK.
The nurse was eventually caught by police after two girls at the White
Horse Leisure Centre in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, saw him lurking near the women’s
changing rooms and raised the alarm.
Hutchinson appeared at Oxford Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to all the charges put to him. He will be sentenced on April 27.
