A manhunt is on in the Bronx for an angry husband who shot and wounded his divorce-seeking spouse in front of their two kids on Christmas morning, police said.
The holiday incident took
place at about 9:54 a.m. Friday inside the home at 967 E. 220th St. A police
source said the woman, Yadira Perea Saavedra, had asked for a divorce Thursday
night from her husband of 12 years, Rafael Herrera.
The 27-year-old wife suffered
a gunshot wound to her arm, and a graze wound to her neck, police said. She was
taken to Jacobi Hospital. The couple’s two kids — an 8-year-old girl and a
10-year-old boy — and two other children witnessed the shooting.
