A 30-year-old soldier
attached to the Nigerian Army, 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, Abubakar Musa, has
allegedly killed his wife, Anitu Hauwa Abubakar.
The soldier who
allegedly fled the crime scene at the Shitu Alao barracks, Keffi has, however,
been arrested by the state police command.
It was gathered that
the suspect had been on the run for over six years and four months.Parading the suspect at
the state Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department, the state command
Police Public Relations Officer, Numan Ismaila, said the suspect, who hails
from Birni-Kebbi, Kebbi State was arrested on February 8, 2016 by the Nigerian
Army and handed over to the police for prosecution.
“The suspect, after he
killed his wife, escaped to an unknown destination, but he was eventually
arrested by the Nigerian Army and brought to a police division in Keffi for
prosecution,” Sumaila said.
