President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, admitted that the All
Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government is aware of the difficulties
Nigerians are going through.
He, however, described
the current hard times as ‘the birth pangs of a great future’, stressing that
the recent increase in petrol price and liberalisation of the oil sector were
meant “to set Nigeria on the path of recovery.”
The president, who was
represented by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, spoke in Lagos yesterday at the
beginning of a two-day working visit to the state.
He assured Nigerians
that the current pains would eventually give way to prosperity and bring about
the desired success in the country.
To achieve greatness,
he said his administration had perfected plans on series of palliative measures
to encourage industry and manufacturing, stressing that agriculture remains the
centre piece of Nigeria’s economic diversification efforts.
