The
Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to former President Goodluck
Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, was yesterday quizzed by operatives of the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Daily Trust gathered late yesterday.
It was learnt that Okupe was interrogated over
funds he received from the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) and Niger
State in 2014.A source close to the anti-graft agency told Daily Trust that fresh revelations also indicated that Okupe benefited from the N400m a former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman, Olisa Metuh, is alleged to have illegally received from the ONSA.
The source said Okupe cannot account for
about N70 million he received from Niger State at the eve of the primary
election of Goodluck Jonathan.
It was also alleged that he received about N80m from the ONSA about the time of the general elections through his companies, Romic Soiltic and Abraham Telecoms.
