Adewale Elijah Oluwatayo, a member of the federal house of representatives, has died.
Until his death,
Oluwatayo was representing Ifako/Ijaiye federal constituency of Lagos state on
the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He appeared to be
healthy as of the last time he was seen, but was found dead on Thursday in his
house in Abuja.
He was discovered in his
bedroom by his workers when he did not show up as usual to prepare for work.
Yakubu Dogara, speaker of
the house, mourned the sudden death, saying he was “deeply
affected” by the news of the sudden demise of the “hardworking, committed
and patriotic lawmaker”.
Oluwatayo was special adviser on education in Lagos state between
2009 and 2011, and chairman, electricity board, between 2004 and 2007.
