The Senate President, Bukola Saraki yesterday said Nigeria must rise beyond sentiment in 2019 and elect a youthful, energetic and digital president.
Saraki,
one of the Peoples’ Democratic Party’s presidential aspirants, spoke in
Abeokuta, Ogun State, while meeting with party delegates as part of his ongoing
campaign tour.
He
said: “It is time for us to say who’s the most capable? Who has the ability? Who
has shown that anywhere he is, he will be able to carry people along? Today,
there is a new order all over the world.
“From
Asia, America and all over the Europe, what do we see? We see people bring in
youthful, dynamic and energetic president. And more importantly, digital
president. Out of all the aspirants, I believe I have the capacity, I have the
ability. I am bold and I can stand for the right thing.”
The
Senate president said Nigeria needed a courageous leader to fight insecurity
and corruption, saying “you cannot give what you don’t have.”
