The Acting President,
Professor Yemi Osinbajo, was absent from his office yesterday. There was,
however, no official function yesterday at the Vice President’s wing of the Aso
Rock Presidential Villa from where Osinbajo operates.
Some
State House workers expressed surprise at the acting president’s absence. It
was the first time Osinbajo stayed away from office since he became acting
president on May 7 when President Muhammadu Buhari departed for the United
Kingdom for a follow-up consultation with his doctors.
Osinbajo,
it was learnt, did not travel out of Abuja, as he chose to rest at his Aguda
residence in Aso Rock. A presidency source hinted: “It seems the acting
president is taking a rest having worked too much within the week.”
The
source, who craved anonymity, revealed that Osinbajo was at his official
residence throughout yesterday.
