Senate
President Bukola Saraki has fired some shots at Adams Oshiomhole, national
chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This
comes one day after he vowed not to descend into the gutter with the
ruling party.
Saraki
had resisted hitting back at the APC which described him as a failure who
swims in controversy.
But
on Friday, the senate president went all out for Oshiomhole who vowed that he
would be removed from office.
The
APC chairman had boasted that Saraki would not only be removed but that his
party would deploy its resources to ensure that he does not return to the
senate in 2019.
In
a statement issued on his behalf by Yusuph Olaniyonu, his spokesman, Saraki
accused the APC chairman of making reckless comments.
“This
garrulous, tactless and reckless APC chairman should know that a million of
Adams Oshiomhole cannot remove Saraki as Senate President. His illegal plots,
can only feed his insatiable ego and keep him awake at nights. But it will
remain an exercise in futility.”
“It
is rather surprising that Mr. Adams Oshiomhole is behaving like a rain-beaten
chicken, crying all over the place about Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, as if the
Senate President is the apparition haunting his life and the sinking ship that
he captains,” the statement read.
