The presidential
campaign organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party has raised the alarm that
the opposition All Progressives Congress is planning to plunge the nation into
crisis because defeat is steering it in the face.
Director of Media and
Publicity of the PDP campaign, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, raised the alarm at a
media briefing in Abuja, on Wednesday.
Fani-Kayode said the
PDP had uncovered a plot by the APC to destabilise the country as soon as its
candidate, Maj. Gen.Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) loses the presidential election on
March 28.
According to
Fani-Kayode, the APC has already set in motion its plan with the establishment
of “APC Radio” or “Radio Chanji” which he said had been broadcasting falsehood,
propaganda and inciting members of the public.
“The objective of the
radio station is to serve as a propaganda tool to fight the government after
they lose the election on March 28,” he said.
He named former
governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, whom he said was the brain behind
Radio Kudirat during the days of NADECO
when the government of General Sani Abacha was being fought by a number of
people in Nigeria, as the man behind the APC radio project.
Fani-Kayode said, “The
opposition know that they would lose the election and after this happens it is
their intention to begin to use this illegal radio station to incite Nigerians
against the government.
“They seek to create
mayhem and cause panic and create a toxic and bellicose atmosphere in which
their supporters will be encouraged to slaughter and kill innocent Nigerians
whilst the country burns.
