Lesbian Couple Sues Sperm Bank For Having A Black Baby (Photos)

Ohio resident Jennifer Cramblett and her partner, Amanda Zinkon, decided to bring a baby into their lives back in 2011, using some help from Donor 380 at the Midwest Sperm Bank in Chicago, Illinois. But, Cramblett's new suit against the bank alleges, they were instead provided with sperm from Donor 330 because of a mixup in the handwritten notes. And Donor 330 happens to be black, while both Cramblett and Zinkon are white.

The couple specified that they need a white donor to be a father of a baby. The sperm bank only sent to them a $400 refund for providing them with wrong semen.
Ms Cramblett said that she had ‘limited cultural competency relative to African-Americans’ and is very afraid that her baby daughter will not be accepted in her hometown. Now her daughter Payton is two years old. Jennifer and her partner Amanda Zinkon love their baby girl so much that they are ready to move into more tolerant area.
Even simple everyday things are very complicated in their town: ‘Payton has hair typical of an African American girl. To get a decent cut, Jennifer must travel to a black neighborhood, far from where she lives, where she is obviously different in appearance, and not overtly welcome,’ according to the lawsuit.
Midwest Sperm Bank has not given any comments on this case yet.
