Gunmen kidnap two teachers, demand N5m ransom

Gunmen yesterday, abducted two teachers from Ubima Community Secondary School in Ikwerre Local government Area of Rivers State. The two teachers, Blessing Chukwu and Ikpendu Samuewere were abducted by unknown gunmen along the school road while returning home from school. 
At press time, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, DSP, Ahmad Muhammad promised to speak later when fully briefed.

But sources from the victims’ families, yesterday, disclosed that contact has been established with the abductors. The source revealed that the kidnappers were demanding 5 million naira as ransom to secure the freedom of the victims. A teacher in the school Mr. Sunday Onu told Vanguard that the two teachers left the school premises and were on their way back home when gunmen took them away at gunpoint.
