Actress Jennifer Eliogu set to sing for women in US

Actress and singer, Jennifer Eliogu, is set to perform at the African Women in Leadership Conference taking place in Atlanta, USA. The actress, who has been in the industry for about 17 years, is currently working to build her music career and has three singles to her credit.

Eliogu took many by surprise when she veered into music a few years ago. She released a new single early this year and has performed at several gigs with her 10-man Silk Band.
Her singles, You and I, Ifunanya, and Fantasy are a fusion of different genres of music. Ifunanya was nominated as the Best R&B song at the Nigerian Music Video Awards 2013; You and I is the cover version of the late highlife legend, Celestine Ukwu’s song, while Fantasy is a lover’s rock reggae song.
Speaking on her foray into music, Eliogu said: “Music is something that has always been a part of me. I have come into the music industry to stay. I’m in it for good. I am not in competition with anybody, it is just another way of making use of the talents that I have. I am not in it because other people are going into music but because I have the passion for it and I have always wanted to make good music. Music is serious business, and I am in for the long run. I have a 10-man band called Silk Band and we just want to make people feel good through music.”
