Don’t be deceived by politicians, they are people of many words - Jonathan tells youths

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has advised youths not to be carried away by lies of politicians but to assess what those aspiring for elective offices had done in the past. He also described most politicians as men of many words who tell many lies to woo voters. 

Jonathan said, “For the Bayelsa young people, do not be carried away by politicians. Politicians are people of many words. They go to so many places, talking to so many people, telling so many lies.

“Do not listen to what people say, but assess what people have done over the period.’’

Jonathan stated this during the presentation of the Peoples Democratic Party flag to Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson at a grand finale of Dickson’s campaign in Yenagoa, state capital, on Saturday.

The state was agog as the leaders of the PDP thronged the Samson Siasia Sports Complex to witness the event.

Jonathan, who urged the youth to vote for a candidate that would develop the state, said Dickson deserved re-election considering his giant strides in all sectors in Bayelsa.

He said a vote for Dickson in next Saturday’s poll would be a vote for liberation, development, security and peace, stressing that the PDP remained the party for the people.
