Garba Shehu, senior
special assistant to the president on media and publicity, says President
Muhammadu Buhari will return to London for his medical check-ups.
Reacting to reports that Buhari had plans to fly his doctors into
the country, Shehu told reporters in Abuja that the president will return to
the country he spent his 49 days medical vacation.
“The last time the president spoke about this (medical trip), he
said he would return to his doctors after some time,” Shehu said.
“We are not aware that this has changed. We are not aware of the
reported advance movements.”
However, Shehu did not specify when Buhari will continue his
medical vacation.
Speaking with members of his cabinet shortly after returning to
the country on March 10, Buhari had revealed that he would be returning to
Britain for follow-ups.
“There may be need to have further follow-ups within some weeks,”
he had said.
