No fewer than four persons have been feared dead and
critically injured during Wednesday’s local government rerun election held in
Delta State.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at the
Delta State police command, Celestina Kalu, however, said only one person died
during the fracas, which ensued between supporters of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP).
The rerun election held on Wednesday, in Okpe,
Ethiope East, Udu and Ndukwa East local government areas of the state.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that trouble started

supporters, who dared to halt an ongoing electoral malpractice during voting at
Abraka.
In the process, three persons were allegedly shot
by some thugs, who snatched voting materials meant for a ward in Abraka.
The thugs were said to have successfully snatched
ballot boxes and driven through Samangidi, while shooting sporadically into the
air.
