Nigerian Man Arrested For Impersonating US Attorney General

Kazeem Owonla (pictured) used a photo of the Attorney General of Montana, Tim Fox to create a fake dating profile
A Nigerian man in the US has been accused of impersonating the Attorney General of Montana and is set to be charged for the crime.

44-year-old Kazeem Owonla allegedly used AG Tim Fox’s photo to set up a fake online dating profile which he used to scam several women.
The suspect presented himself to one woman as John Tony Hagan, an electrical engineer who was working in Egypt, and managed to dupe her of more than $100,000.
The unidentified victim said she met “Hagan” online in January and “it got pretty intense fairly quickly.” She also told WNDU-TV that the suspect had shown “lots of passion and attention,” and expressed embarrassment that she had fallen for the scam.
Owonla got another woman to send him a total of $11,590 after he identified himself as Henry Tesone, an electrical engineer in South Africa.
The Attorney General’s photo was taken from his campaign website without his permission and spokesperson, John Barnes has said that the AG is upset that his image was used in the scam.
Owonla’s bail has been set at $150,000 cash.
