The
authorities of the Nigerian military have said that the Special Forces have
liberated the town of Chibok in Borno State from the control of Boko Haram.
The Director of Army
Public Relations (DAPR), Brig-Gen. Olajide Laleye confirmed this through a
brief text message.
Laleye said that the
military took back the town on Saturday night after a combined aerial and
ground assault.
Even though he did not
give much detail, the Army spokesman said that the town is well secured
and the troops are currently conducting mop up operations...
