A woman has caused an Ebola scare in Brooklyn, New York after she dropped dead while bleeding from the nose and mouth on Tuesday, November 18.
The unidentified woman
was said to have just arrived New York from Guinea, a country which is
currently battling an outbreak of the disease.
Officials in protective
suits arrived at the Amy Professional African Hair Braiding in the Brownsville
area of Brooklyn to take samples for tests and also to decontaminate the
building.
An eyewitness who saw the
body of the deceased reportedly said that said there was blood coming from her
'face, nose and mouth'.
The owner of the salon, Amy Cisse confirmed that the victim has just
arrived from Guinea.
“She
was in Guinea three weeks ago and they were monitoring her. We were told she
had had a heart attack, but now we are hearing that she may be tested for
Ebola,” Cisse said.
However, officials from the New York City Department of
Health have confirmed that the victim did not die from Ebola after tests for
the disease came in negative.
