A middle aged woman
working as a Nurse in a private hospital at Aba-Panu in Odigbo local government
area of Ondo state and four other persons working in the hospital have been
arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in the loss of a child’s
placenta in the hospital.
The Nurse (name withheld) reportedly took the delivery of a
child born to one Mrs. Sinatu Adeoye at the hospital.
The Nation gathered that the child’s placenta was declared
missing few hours after he was born and those on duty could not provide useful
information on its whereabouts when asked by the father to the child.
The pregnant woman was delivered of a male child, and this was
confirmed by the Nurse who took the delivery.
The persistent request for the placenta by the child’s father
reportedly caused confusion in the hospital as the man mobilized people there
to cause mayhem.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Wole Ogodo who
confirmed the incident, said five persons have been arrested in connection with
the missing placenta.
He said the suspects are already assisting the police in their
investigation.
