Man ‘caught performing sex act on woman’s corpse in mortuary’

A homeless man was caught performing a sex act on a woman’s corpse in a mortuary, police said.

Domonique Smith, 26, was arrested and charged with stealing a bicycle from Hill Watson Peoples Funeral Service in Columbus, Georgia.

And police said that during the investigation they found evidence the man had sexual contact with the body of a woman in the funeral home’s mortuary.

‘The investigation led us to believe he had a sexual act with the woman’s body,’ said Captain Gordon Griswould, who added he could not remember the last time there was a necrophilia charge in the area.

‘This is extremely rare.’

Cedric Hill, funeral director at the home, declined to discuss details.

Smith pleaded guilty to all charges.
