The Pope has turned down lunch with politicians
to dine with 300 homeless people.
Since
arriving in the US on Tuesday for a six-day visit, Pope Francis has been
spotted cruising around in his tiny Fiat 500L waving to excited onlookers.
Today he will address Congress – the first time a sitting Pope has done so –
before sitting down to eat with the capital’s homeless community.
‘He
is my hero. He lives the Gospel in the way I want to live it myself,’ Monsignor
John Enzler, CEO of Washington Catholic Charities, told CNN.
