An evil husband stabbed his wife to death as she lay defenceless in bed - just weeks after he was released from prison.
Mazhar Nawab savagely
murdered his wife Anayat Bibi stabbing her more than 40 times with a Bowie
knife at their home in Sheffield, South Yorks.
The monster, 43, was
jailed for life for the murder of the mother of his two children yesterday.
Sheffield Crown Court
heard how Nawab killed Anayat just weeks after he was released from a six-year
prison sentence for firing a gun into a room of terrified wedding guests.
The gunfire attack
forced guests to cower beneath tables at the reception at the Sheffield Park
Hotel in March 2011.
One bullet hit the
ceiling while two shot across the packed room leaving guests fearing for their
lives.
Nawab moved to the UK
with his wife in 1994 from Pakistan, following an arranged marriage which was
ultimately unhappy.The court heard cruel husband Nawab would look at dating
websites and on the day of the killing rang emergency services to say his wife
had stabbed him and he had stabbed her back.
Nawab pleaded guilty to
murder on the basis Anayat came at him with a knife - an account which was
rejected by a judge...
