A husband who decapitated his wife as she lay dead or dying on the floor has been jailed for life for her brutal murder.
Naveed Ahmed, 41,
stabbed Tahira Ahmed several times before continuing to 'hack at her neck' as
she lay lifeless on their kitchen floor.
The mum-of-two also
suffered two broken arms during the ferocious attack, after Mr Ahmed 'snapped
like a stick' and flew into a deadly rage on May 27 last year.
Ahmed,
of Merton Avenue, Northolt, west London, admitted murder at an earlier hearing
was jailed for at least 22 years at the Old Bailey today.
Sentencing, Judge
Christopher Moss, QC, said: "I have no doubt you intended to kill her in
the most brutal and ferocious way.
"You took a
kitchen knife, which was later found in the kitchen sink and attacked her with
it. She suffered numerous stab wounds to the body and head.
"You used it to
decapitate her while she was dead or dying. Her head was found severed from her
body with only a piece of skin holding it on."
