A 22 year-old Turkish woman has committed
suicide on Thursday after allegedly getting raped by her brother. Aysun Altay
is said to have fallen into depression following the alleged raping, after
which she shot herself in the heart on her bed.
Altay had been allegedly raped by her brother, who is now in
prison. Following the assault, the woman is said to have moved from her
hometown of Manisa to Kütahya’s Domaniç district.
Altay reportedly left a suicide note to her boyfriend in which she
wrote: “I am tired of life and what I have gone through. Please do not be sorry
after I leave.”
Altay had reportedly tried to kill herself twice previously by
cutting her wrists.
The officials reported that Altay had committed suicide by using
her boyfriend’s unlicensed gun.
