A stabbing at a Frederick County, Maryland, church left
one man dead and his wife injured over the weekend.
Song Su
Kim, 30, was charged with murder, attempted murder and assault after stabbing
the man and his wife at the Anna Prayer Counseling and Retreat Center in
Urbana, according to WJLA. The man died, but the wife was flown to a nearby trauma center in Baltimore for treatment, where she's in serious but stable condition.
Investigators with the Frederick County sheriff's office are still searching for a motive in the attack. "I wish I knew," Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said at a news conference, Fox News reports. "We don't know at this point."
But the grisly crime scene left even veteran investigators shocked. "There was a pretty gruesome scene, pretty bloody," Jenkins said.
Following the stabbing, Kim dialed 911 himself and was found walking on a nearby road, "waiting to be arrested," Jenkins said. He was taken into custody without incident. Kim had been living at the center for a week when the attack happened. The day before, he'd called cops to complain about the food, police said.
