Two Nigerians from
Chelsea Academy, Dominic Solanke, and Ola Aina, have been promoted to the main
team following their excellent performance and handed squad numbers 35 and 34
shirts, respectively.
Besides,
returning Chelsea forward, Victor Moses, who was on loan to Stoke City, will
wear jersey No 20. The
jersey was so well associated with Deco during his spell with the Roman Army at
Stamford Bridge. Players
are in line to feature in Saturday’s pre-season game against Paris
Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile,
John Obi Mikel has moved to end speculation over his Chelsea future by
insisting he is happy at Stamford Bridge. The
28-year-old was linked with the likes of Al Ain and Fenerbahce during the
transfer window but remained with the Blues despite the interest. Mikel
said that he considered leaving Chelsea but had a change of mind since the
manager, Jose Mourinho, wants him to stay.
