A gun-toting preacher
at a Texas church shot an alleged intruder who tried breaking into his Baytown
house of worship early Tuesday, police said.
Benny Holmes, the pastor at The Church of New
Beginnings, blasted the trespasser once in the shoulder after he heard a man
try to break in about 6 a.m., Baytown Assistant Police Chief Roger Clifford
told the Daily News.
The wounded man was rushed to the hospital. His
condition was unclear, but police believe he will likely survive his injury.
