The Lagos State Government will provide free bus services today to Lagosians to meet up their religious and social obligations at the end of the Ramadan fasting.
Operators of the Bus
Rapid Transit (BRT) and Bus Franchise Scheme (BFS) will carry passengers free
on their respective transit corridors, according to a statement from the Lagos
Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
Free service will be
offered commuters on the BRT corridor from Mile 12 to CMS by 1st BRT
Cooperative Society, operator of the Mile 12 to CMS BRT system while Capetrust
Investment Ltd, operator of the BFS will offer services along its corridor –
Maryland – Ikeja-Iyana-Ipaja – Ikotun- Igando axis of Alimoso and Ikeja Local
Governments.
Managing Director of
Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola
enjoined Lagosians to have faith in the government in bringing to reality the
vision for a world class transport for Lagos.
He enjoined Lagosians to
reflect on the spiritual significance of the Ramadan fast and continue to pray
for the peace and progress of the state.
Further, he admonished
Lagosians to do everything in moderation, observe the Lagos Traffic law, avoid
excess speed and recognize the rights of other on the road.
